Daniel was 38 when he met Sofia. By then, he already owned a construction company, several houses, and a large yacht where he spent almost every weekend.
Sofia was twelve years younger than her husband. The first years of their marriage seemed perfect. She constantly told him that money didn’t matter to her, and Daniel sincerely believed her.
But four years later, everything changed.
Sofia met Mark. He worked as a personal trainer at an upscale sports club that she visited several times a week.
At first, they simply talked.
Then they began seeing each other in secret.
A few months later, Mark asked her:
“Why don’t you just divorce him?”
Sofia gave a faint smile.
“Because in that case, I’d get much less than I want.”
That was when a terrifying plan began to take shape.
Sofia knew that her husband often took his yacht far from the coast. She believed that if something happened to him at sea, no one would suspect her.
For several weeks, Sofia carefully prepared everything.
She even deliberately began treating her husband much better so Daniel wouldn’t suspect anything.
One morning, Sofia suggested that she and Daniel spend a weekend alone together on the yacht.
He immediately agreed.
When the yacht was far enough from the coast, Daniel spotted Mark standing on the deck.
“What is he doing here?” Daniel asked in surprise.
Sofia didn’t even have time to answer.
A bodyguard she had paid in advance approached Daniel from behind.
Daniel tried to defend himself, but the three of them quickly managed to overpower him.
They tied his hands and forced him to his knees.
Only then did Daniel understand everything.
“Sofia… why?”
His wife looked at him calmly.
“Because I’m tired of waiting.”
Mark brought over a heavy chain and a huge anchor.
One end of the chain was fastened around Daniel’s legs.
Daniel looked at his wife as though, until the very last moment, he still hoped she might change her mind.
But Sofia simply looked away.
A few minutes later, Daniel was dragged to the edge of the yacht.
Mark threw the anchor overboard first. Then, with the bodyguard’s help, they pushed Daniel into the water.
Sofia walked over to the railing.
For several seconds, bubbles were still visible on the surface.
Then the ocean became calm again.
Mark wrapped his arms around Sofia.

A few days later, the lawyer informed Sofia that she would not be able to take possession of her husband’s assets immediately.
First, Daniel’s death had to be officially recognized, and they had to wait for the investigation to be completed.
Two days later, someone knocked on the door of the estate.
Sofia was convinced that the investigators simply had a few routine questions.
But one of them placed a photograph in front of her.
Daniel was alive in the picture.
Sofia turned pale.
It turned out that Daniel had been scuba diving for many years and always kept a small set of emergency equipment aboard his yacht.
When they had thrown him overboard, he had managed to free one leg before the anchor could drag him all the way to the bottom.
The chain had caught on a metal structure beneath the yacht’s hull, slowing his descent for a few seconds.
That brief moment had been enough for Daniel to pull his leg free from the loop that had loosened around it.
But the most unexpected part came next.
Exhausted, Daniel managed to reach the surface, far behind the departing yacht.
Two fishermen happened to spot him and pulled him out of the water.
Daniel wanted to call the police immediately, but an investigator asked him not to tell anyone for a few days that he had survived.
